Excel Policy
Overview
This course is designed in accordance with Microsoft Office User Specialist guidelines. It will introduce the student to spreadsheets. It will include the following topics: creating, saving and revising and navigating workbooks; printing and protecting workbooks; applying worksheet and text attributes; using autofill techniques; using ranges and sorting information; formatting numbers; using complex functions and advanced formulas such as vlookup and financial functions; creating and enhancing charts from existing data; and linking and consolidating multiple workbooks.
Class Policy
All assignments will be done in class. Books may not be removed from the computer lab. Assignments will include book projects, end of unit exercises, and a series of individual special projects with specific due dates.
In the event you are absent from class for any reason, it is your responsibility to make up all work missed in a timely manner. You must take it upon yourself to come to the computer labs during your free period, lunch or before/after school. See me for a pass to work in the computer labs at times different from your scheduled class time. If you are out for an extended period of time, see me for modified due dates. You are still responsible for all work.
Grading Policy
All assignments will be worth a certain number of points. Your grade will be determined by the total number of points you earn divided by the total number of possible points. Failure to turn in an assignment or turning in an assignment more than two days' late will result in a zero for that assignment. THERE IS NO EXTRA CREDIT OR REDOING OF ANY ASSIGNMENT.

PowerPoint Policy
Overview
This course is designed to introduce the student to the fundamentals of a presentation software package in accordance with Microsoft Office User Specialist guidelines. It will include the following topics: creating, saving and revising slides; character, paragraph and slide formatting; adding shading, borders and clipart to a presentation; adding footers, headings and wordart to a presentation, adding and customizing templates; including sound and motion into a slide presentation.

All assignments will be done in class. Books may not be removed from the computer lab. Assignments will include book projects with specific due dates, end of section presentations and a series of individual classroom presentations.
